Welcome to the homepage for The White Flame - an audio play which is currently in production. On this site you will find a whole range of gems to look at, read and listen to, from information about the cast and crew, to the director's blog, and you may even find some blooper reels! Of course, you will be able to find information about the story itself, its production, and ultimately, you will be able to download the actual play itself...once it is complete. Look around and enjoy yourself! And if you like what you see, or have a question, or even if you just want to tell us how much you're looking forward to the 'World Premiere', then drop us a line in the Guestbook! BREAKING NEWS
The White Flame is now complete!
OK, so I figure it's not fair on you guys, after you've been kept waiting so long, to keep you waiting any longer now I've finished the final chapter. I COULD keep it on my hardrive and release it on the 2nd as I'd planned, but I thought it'd be fairer on both the listeners and the actors to release it as soon as it's done. Which is why you'll find ALL EIGHT CHAPTERS now up for download! Just remember to come and leave me some feedback. Enjoy over two hours of adventure with Maitharne and Viathon.
26/01/2008 - So basically this week I've been doing nothing BUT TWF stuff! And I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labour! I'll still keep updating the site with random things - expect more posters and other artwork, and hopefully at some point there will be a flash movie to show as well. Until then, please remember to leave me feedback - and also remember that this is the first time I've done anything like this!
23/01/2008 - CHAPTERS THREE AND FOUR COMPLETED Due to a lot of unforseen incidents, some personal, some professional, the White Flame had to be put in hold. But it was never forgotten. Finally, I'm pleased to say, that Chapter Three (and Chapter Four, a few hours after it) has been completed! I'm also expecting that for the remaining chapters, I'll be able to release at least one chapter every one to two weeks.
14/08/2007 - I'm not dead yet! I know there hasn't been much of a sign from me lately, but there is good news....and some bad. Don;t worry too much, the bad news is that I have very little access to the computer and the internet at the moment, and that I'm currently concentrating on revising for an exam which is coming up in the next week or so. The good news is that once I have found somewhere to host the audio files (and once I get them transferred from my laptop to my parents computer - the only one with internet acess at the moment), the Prologue AND Chapter One (and possibly Chapter Two) will be put up!
18/07/2007 - After waiting a month for some sign of life from two of the actors, I've had to come to a major decision, and quickly. Two members of cast have been dropped, and I have (perhaps only temporarily) taken their parts. Thank goodness they were only small parts. But perhaps I can get this chapter complete now.
15/06/2007 - CHAPTER TWO COMPLETED - Yip, that's right! I got some of the first lines in from the Narrator today, so was able to slot them into place into Chapter Two. I'm still waiting for lines from some of the other characters, which is why Chapter Two has been completed before Chapter One, but I hope to get those in soon. Obviously, I won't be releasing Chapter Two before One, but keep your eyes open.
8/06/2007 - Wow, what a week. Started my new job, so less time to look after the site and TWF as much as I'd like, but the lines are still flowing in. BGM is still being collected, and a new trailer has been made. You can check it out in the trailers section.
1/06/2007 - Started to get the first of the lines in today. I sat down and listened to some of these lines, and couldn't help but grin in delight. Of the lines that I've recieved, the casting process seems to have worked well. The actors that I've heard so far have really put their all into these parts, and the result is incredibly exciting. I cannot WAIT to hear more. And, once I get more actors sending their lines in, the sooner I can start on the actual mixing. I've also been scouting out SFX and background music - although I will be using some of my own compositions for background music, and I will be creating some of my own SFX, there's a limit to what I can do in a reasonable time-frame. I do want to get this done and out before Christmas, after all. Whether six months is a reasonable time-frame or not, we shall see. I'm actually hoping to get the majority of it done within the next couple of months, before I head back to university. Top that with hoping to get a job (I have my interview today) it will probaly mean very long hours.
31/05/2007 - Well, here we are. At the end of one long, hard slog, and the start of another. At least now, I can take a breath, step back and relax. The writing is done, the cast have been found (that was an incredible process in itself), the scripts have been sent out, and now I'm waiting for the lines to start rolling in. Once that happens, then it's back to me to begin on the post-production work. Then the pick-ups, if I need any.... in a way, this process is very like shooting a film. The writer completes the script and hands it over to the director. The director lets the actors make the characters their own, then the editors put all the bits together, along with the director. Then if the director thinks they need any extra bits, they film pick-up shots, then the music is added...except with a film, they have groups of people doing all this. It's just one person with an audio play like this...but that's why I love it!
Keep your eyes on this spot - this is where I'll keep updating you. ;)
